Write, even if millions of people have access to the words, but only hundreds read it. Write, even if writing bares your soul, and you’re left alone and exposed. Write, for your life was meant to bring the hope of Christ to those who know and read it. And so, God provides Our Written Lives of Hope. . .
Facing Myself: An Introspective Look at Cosmetic Surgery
In the book, I combine research with my personal experience to create discussion and providing questions to ask one’s self before and after surgery from a Christian perspective.
Topics include history and statistics, the ancient world of body alteration, shame and the church, beautifully created, finding contentment, how cosmetic surgery impacts life and relationships, and four reasons people choose cosmetic surgery.
Whether you’re considering cosmetic surgery or you’re like me and have already experienced it, this book will provide food for thought and help you resolve any ongoing questions.
Writing this book is helping me just as much as it will help others. 15 years after my cosmetic surgery, I knew I had unspoken conversations, unresolved questions and a purpose for the greater good that could come from my choices. I’m looking forward to beginning dialogue on this current topic, and providing a resource that can make a difference in thousands of lives.
Angel: The True Story of an Undeserved Chance
~As told to Rachael Hartman by Angelena Cortello
Angel Cortello was lost in a world of emotional problems, addiction, prostitution and the street life. This is the true story of how she chose recovery and freedom, even in the midst of consequences such as living with HIV.
“You don’t have to live your life like this,” he said. He put a wad of cash on the bed, handed me the key to the hotel room and walked out. I never saw the man again. …He could see something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. He could see someone better than who I had become…
I wanted to write a book that brought glory to God. I started praying for the Lord to bring me someone to write about, and a few years into my praying, He brought Angel. When I first met Angel, I knew she had an amazing story that could positively impact the world for Christ. When she found out I was a writer, it seemed to click in both of our minds that we should begin the book project. We started interviews the week of July 4, 2012 and we had the book in hand 11 months later. Angel: The True Story of an Undeserved Chance is a testimony of the grace of God. I’m so honored to be a part of making this book happen.
